🌙 Dream journal · 7 interpretive traditions

Catch the dream first. Understand it after.

Wake up the meaning
of your dreams.

A dream fades within minutes. Onifide lets you capture it in thirty seconds, by keyboard or by voice — then reads it back to you through seven different lenses, without ever claiming to hold the right answer.

✦ Why Onifide

A journal built for the minutes the dream is still there

Everything is designed around one constraint: when you wake up, you have a few minutes before the dream is gone. The rest can wait.

Instant capture, typed or dictated

The writing screen is there the moment you open the app. Type, or dictate — speech recognition runs on the device where it can, so your voice never reaches a transcription service. A night with no dream is logged too, in one tap.

📜

Seven readings of one dream

The same dream read by Freud, by Jung, in the tradition of Ibn Sirin, in Christian tradition, by Artemidorus, in Vedic Hinduism — and explained by neuroscience. Each reading is announced for what it is: the view of one frame, not the truth.

🤍

A tradition with nothing to say stays silent

If a dream meets nothing relevant in a corpus, Onifide says so instead of manufacturing an interpretation to fill the screen. A silent tradition is an honest answer.

🧭

A profile that builds itself night after night

The figures and motifs that recur in your dreams accumulate over time and sketch what your journal keeps staging — never a judgement about who you are.

🎨

An image of your dream, on request

A dream worth keeping can get its illustration. It is generated from the symbols already extracted, never from the raw text of your dream — and only when you ask for it.

🔒

What you write is never used to target you

No ad targeting is ever done from what is in your journal. You can export all of your data, and deleting your account is a real deletion — immediate and permanent.

The seven streams

Six symbolic readings, plus one scientific perspective kept separate because it answers a different question.

IslamTraditional reading, in the lineage of Ibn Sirin.
FreudLatent content, desire, the dream-work.
JungArchetypes, the shadow, the path of individuation.
ChristianityTraditional Christian reading of dreams.
Ancient GreeceThe view of Artemidorus and his key to dreams.
Vedic HinduismVedic reading of the dreaming state.
NeuroscienceWhy the brain dreams — the mechanism, not the symbol.

Onifide does not rank these traditions by seriousness. Each is presented with the same care, and none is presented as holding the right answer.

One dream, seven readings, side by side

  • Pick one tradition, or compare them on the same dream
  • A synthesis connects the readings when they answer each other
  • Every interpretation reformulates the source material rather than quoting it
  • A stream with nothing to say about your dream stays silent instead of inventing

A journal that remembers for you

  • Ask your own dreams a question: “what keeps coming back when I dream of water?”
  • The answer draws only on your dreams, never on anyone else's
  • Recurring figures and motifs accumulate night after night, without re-analysing everything
  • A local morning reminder, at the time you choose, so the habit holds

Your question

What keeps coming back when I dream of water?

From 6 of your dreams

Water shows up mostly in dreams of transition — a departure, a move, the night before an exam. It is calm when the scene resolves, restless when it does not.

Why seven traditions, and not one

0final verdict

For as long as people have told their dreams, every culture has offered a way to read them — and none has ever had the last word. Most apps pick a single frame and present it as the key. Onifide does the opposite: it shows you several readings of the same dream, says where each one comes from, and lets you decide which one speaks to you. That is also why neuroscience belongs here, kept apart: it does not explain what your dream means, but why your brain makes one at all.

Frequently asked

How does Onifide interpret a dream?

You write your dream down, by keyboard or by voice. Onifide finds the relevant passages for the tradition you picked in its documentary library, then writes a reading of your dream within that symbolic frame. The text is AI-generated and presented as a tool for reflection, never as truth.

Is this a religious app?

No. Onifide is not a religious authority, not a fatwa service, and not a source of spiritual teaching. Religious traditions are among the seven streams because they produced a real body of writing about dreams, and every reading is always presented as the view of one symbolic frame, not as a religious ruling.

Does Onifide predict the future?

Never. Onifide does not say that a dream announces an event. Dreams are treated as symbolic, reflective material, never as forecasts.

Is this therapy?

No. The guided exercises — free association, dialogue with a dream figure, nightmare rescripting — are tools for personal reflection, not clinical treatment and not a diagnosis. They do not replace care from a health professional.

Is Onifide free?

Your first dream is free, no card required. After that your journal stays readable for free — your dreams are yours and are never locked away — while new dreams and the advanced features are part of a Premium or Ultime subscription.

Are my dreams private?

Your dreams are stored on our servers, because interpretation needs a server to work, and their text is sent to our AI provider to generate the interpretations. We say so rather than hiding it behind a slogan. We sell nothing, we do no ad targeting based on what you write in your journal, and you can export and then permanently delete all of your data from the settings. The details are in the privacy policy.

🕯️

What Onifide is not

Onifide is not a religious authority, not medical or psychological advice, and not an oracle. No interpretation is ever presented as a truth, a diagnosis or a prediction — only as the reading of one symbolic frame among others, AI-generated from a documentary corpus.

Because dream content is involuntary, it can surface difficult themes. Onifide is neither an emergency service nor a helpline — if a dream leaves you in distress, talk to a health professional or a listening service in your country.
